Fee estimates

Fee estimates in minutes, from your own fee scales.

The firm that sends a clear estimate first often wins the instruction. OpLegal builds each estimate from your fees and questions, works out Stamp Duty as you type, and lets clients accept online.

Your fees, your questions

Set up your fee scales once: by transaction type and price band, with supplements for things like leaseholds, new builds, Help to Buy or a mortgage. Your own questions decide which fees apply, so a quote request becomes an accurate estimate without anyone reaching for a spreadsheet.

Stamp Duty, worked out for you

On a purchase, OpLegal works out Stamp Duty Land Tax as the price is typed, including first-time buyer relief and the higher rates for additional properties, and shows how it got there.

Approved, sent, accepted

  • A solicitor approves every estimate before it goes, or sends it straight away if they prepared it.
  • It goes out in your firm's branding, by email and in the client's portal.
  • The client reads it and accepts it online. Onboarding can start straight away.
  • Follow-ups and expiry dates are tracked, so open estimates don't go quiet.

On your own website too

Put an estimate request form on your website, built from the same questions. As an optional extra, an AI assistant can ask the questions in a conversation and pass the request to your team.

See what's working

Reports show open estimates and the fees at stake, what was sent and accepted, and how conversion is changing, so you can see where work comes from and where it's lost.

Common questions

Can we use our own fee scales?

Yes. OpLegal uses your firm's own fees, supplements and disbursements, and your own questions decide which apply.

Does it work out Stamp Duty?

Yes, on purchases in England and Northern Ireland, as the price is typed, with the workings shown.

Can clients accept online?

Yes. They read the estimate in their portal and accept it there; joint clients each accept.

Does a solicitor approve estimates?

Yes. Estimates can wait for approval by the right person before they're sent.
